Taste Sakura Season with Tokyo Tokyo’s Sumo Meal

I’m turning Japanese! And I believe in my previous life I am Japanese because I really love Japanese food.

And I’m so excited because Tokyo Tokyo celebrates Sakura or Cherry Blossom Festival by introducing their Sakura Sumo Meal. As we all know, Sakura Festival is one of the most-liked item in a traveler’s bucket list and I’m one of them.

This year, in its desire to continuously bring Japan closer to Filipinos, Tokyo Tokyo, the country’s #1 Japanese restaurant chain, is bringing the famous festival in Manila. They’ll be offering a Sakura-inspired bento meal. This filling meal contains favourite Japanese dishes and pink coloured new treats that are perfect for sharing.

The Sakura Sumo Meal is composed of 3-piece fried Chicken Karaage, Beef Misono, 2-piece Prawn Tempura, Vegetable Tempura, Yakisoba, and two bowls of steaming hot rice. A perfect meal indeed! I love everything! The Tempura, Beef Misono and Chicken Karaage are our ultimate favourites. Yum!

The Sumo Meal also comes with 2-pc chewy Sakura Mochi Balls. A roll of pink-colored glutinous rice cake with delectable peanut butter filling. I like the Mochi balls because it is soft and of course the peanut butter filling makes it more delicious. It is something familiar for Filipino palate.

It has two glasses of Sakura Lychee Fizz. A combination of Sprite and Sakura syrup with soft and flavorful data strips. This drink is a must try. It is so refreshing and perfect for the summer season in our country.

You can also upgrade your Sumo Meal and add Sakura Lychee Jelly. A Lychee-Flavored dessert with fresh fruit bits and topped with cream cheese topping. Of course, a hearty meal is perfect for a sweet ending.

Or you can add Sakura Potato Salad. A yummy concoction of potato cubes, kani strips and beets on a bed of lettuce with Japanese mayo dressing.

Their Sumo Meal is available for only Php 379. But, like the Cherry Blossom Festival, this can be enjoyed for a limited time only.

So hurry and make a trip to the nearest Tokyo Tokyo and try their Sakura-Inspired Sumo Meal!

Tip: Better order their Sakura Lychee Jelly to complete your meal. And the Sakura Lychee Fizz…ahhh bizarrely good!
