Ichiba: Japanese Market

I love Japanese food and I’m so happy because Ichiba: Japanese Market, the first ever Japanese seafood market which is inspired by the large wholesale market of Tsukuji, opened its door this February 2016 in the Philippines.

We enjoyed our Ichiba experience. Once you enter the restaurant, you are magically transported into a market setting in Japan. From traditional and modern Hiragama, Katakana and Kanji murals that decors the wall. If you are looking for a more private and less lively side of the market, they have three function rooms at the back which is perfect for meetings, parties or private gatherings.

They have various food stalls that awaits guests. Offering all the Japanese favourites like: Ramen, Gyoza, Yakitori, Tempura and Takoyaki.

Ichiba has a live Aquarium display. Capable of sustaining up to 600kg of live seafood. Guests can pick from Crabs and Lobsters to a variety of Fishes and Shellfish. They have a fishing pond when you can cast your line and try to catch your meal.

When you select your seafood, enoy them cooked and prepared in a variety of exciting styles by Chefs trained by their Japanese Chef, a former Sushi Master from the renowned Midori Sushi in Japan. Lets experience the market to table concept.

For meat lovers, don’t worry, they offer bite-sized Beef Yakitori, Sukiyaki and Gyoza. They have wide range of high grade steaks and meats. Choose your favorites cuts of Wagyu or Angus beef and their Chefs will slice and serve it to you.

If you want to spend your night at Ichiba, they are the first to have Asahi Bar in the Philippines. Enjoy their ice cold glass of Asahi Beer with their freshly grilled Yakitori.

We really enjoyed Ichiba’s food and we can’t wait to go back. Tip: Try their Gindara Fish, Scallop Sashimi and Yakitori.
