Epic Dining by Visa

The restaurant scene in the Philippines continues to grow bigger and better. So last October 6, 2016 Epic Dining by Visa enters its third phase with a new slate of leading establishments and gastronomic offers available exclusively to all Visa cardholders.

In the Philippines, Visa hosts the Visa Epic Dining: Bloggers Food Crawl Edition. We got to experience the concepts and brain behind the famous dishes from participating establishments. My co-bloggers and I enjoyed a whole different dining experience with Visa by taking a peek into the origins or unique stories of the dishes that each restaurant served.

Of course during our Food Crawl we travel in style by the Luxe Bus. Our bus is the Estilo Luxe Bus. It can accommodate up to 18 guests, with its last two rows configured for face-to-face conversation. It is fitted with two television screens, sausage cooker and sound stream entertainment system equipped with subwoofers, amplifiers and speakers for best sound quality.

Our all-day eating sessions starts at Chelsea Grand Cafe. We had the Trendsetter Menu and Blacksheep Menu. My favourite belongs to the BlackSheep Menu. We had New York Deli-Style “Hot” Corned Beef Brisket, Saffron “Moules Frites” and Spicy Garlic Squid Ink and Chorizo.

Our second stop was at Flat Iron. And according to Chef Vicky, he wants to bring a New York vibe to the place, yet still offer food that is familiar to Asian palates. She calls it urban comfort food. I like the Mushroom Burger, Lamb Shank, Baked Salmon, Flatiron Steak and Flatiron Brisket 6.

Stuffing ourselves with more food. Our third stop was at Frank & Dean. We love the Artichoke Pizza and don’t forget to hold and fold your pizza ( the right way to eat pizza ) and of course the fried chicken too. It is best paired with there Cold Drip Coffee ( brewed for 18 hours ).

Our fourth stop was at Gran Caffe Lavena. A 17th century Venetian style cuisine ate Venice Grand Canal. We had Meat Lasagna, Penne Four Cheese and more.

And our fifth and last stop was at Calderon. An Authentic home-style Spanish food, Tapas, Sangrias, Wine and Beers. Once you enter its doors, Calderon immediately brings you back to your Lola’s home where good food and laid-back conversations always takes place. We had Paella, Crabs and more.
