JoyRide is Back Foodventurers!
You never have to miss JoyRide’s delicious, innovative and convenient meals ever again.
Remember when NutriAsia first launched JoyRide in 2017? Yup, it was a mobile food truck that goes around the Metro to bring Masarap Masaya moments to us foodventurers.
But now, you don’t have to follow them around the Metro because they’re opening up pop-up booths in Mercato Centrale BGC and Mercato Centrale Glorietta.
Affordable and Healthy Treats Comes Your Way
NutriAsia partnered up with Chef Jonvic Mangibin to bring us affordable and healthy meals. Chef co-owns Fresh Fuel, a company that customizes meals for athletes and people with active lifestyles.
Imagine my delight when I knew that NutriAsia products like Jufran, UFC and Mang Tomas will be paired up with healthy meals. Nobody told me healthy could be flavorful too. The bowl comes with a main dish, starch and sauce.
They even considered those with foodventurous palates and provided a “Build Your Own Bowl” selection.
Main courses could be prepared in three different ways – grilled, fried, or sisig style. Selections include: Tofu, Chicken Breast, Pork Chop, Fish Fillet, Vegetable Torta and Flat Iron Steak.
For the starch selection, you could choose from Baked or Fried Sweet Potatoes, Steamed Rice, Bahay Kubo Rice, or Garlic Adlai.
Lastly, sauce selection is as follows: UFC Banana Ketchup, Mang Tomas, Sriracha Oil, Kare-Kare, UFC gravy, Salted Egg Sauce, Garlic Aioli, Sweet & Sour, Red Egg Salsa, Teriyaki Sauce, Chimichurri, and Caesar Dressing.
With all these selections, you could have a different bowl each day!
The JoyRide Kickoff
I went to JoyRide’s kickoff last September 26, 2019 at Mercato Centrale BGC and tried everything on their menu.
I am a real fan of tofu sisig but I am more accustomed to the typical garlicky, spicy, sizzling sisig. This one’s different though so I tried it first! The sauce is widely spread across the whole bowl. It’s so creamy it evens out the spicy flavor of the tofu sisig. The tofu on its own is well-cooked – the edges are slightly crispy while the middle part is so soft and oozing with flavor. The roasted veggies are so fresh, it doesn’t look stale nor does it taste stale. Perfect for vegetarians, this whole meal of rice, veggies and tofu is such a steal.
The Pork Tonkatsu, Crispy Fried Chicken, and, Fish and Chips taste good too.
The pork tonkatsu is perfectly cooked and it is best enjoyed with buttered corn and carrots. Eat them together and you’ll find the battle of the textures in every bite.
Parents need not worry because the kids’ go-to crispy fried chicken is also available in the menu! Lead your kids to this yummy and healthy bowl packed with veggies.
Light eaters could go with the crunchy fish and chips. The bowl is complete with salad on the side.
Finally, another healthy and appetizing option is the the steak and greens bowl which happens to be the most expensive in the menu. First, the steak is grilled. Second, it’s paired with greens. Lastly, your carbs for this meal is garlic adlai, which is a healthy substitute for rice.
Our Verdict
I still can’t get over to where the creamy tofu sisig got me. But overall, the five curated bowls in the menu are definitely worth their price. I love that every bowl is so healthy and affordable.
