Tokyo Tokyo’s Makirrito On-The-Go

If your busy schedule calls for the occasional grab-and-go meal, Tokyo Tokyo is here to help. Nowadays, we are experiencing a lot of different things happening quickly especially when it comes to food. There are new ideas out there. Innovations that will stimulate, interest you and post everyday on your social media accounts. And I’m happy someone came up with a “Food-To-Go” idea, a portable meal that you can eat on the go and take a picture of. Nowadays, we eat first with our eyes, making sure that we take photos of whatever we eat before we actually eat the food.

One of the restaurant chains that is swift to adapt to consumer’s rapidly changing lifestyle is Tokyo Tokyo, the no. 1 Japanese Restaurant. They have become aggressive in improving mealtime experience and bringing Japanese food closer to Filipinos.

This year, they will cater more to consumer’s on-the-go lifestyle. Tokyo Tokyo is introducing a Makirrito line that features a combination of the two most popular dishes in the world – Maki and Burrito.

Makirrito is basically meat, rice, vegetables and seasonings wrapped in a Nori or Japanese Seaweed. It blends the premium flavours of maki and the portability of a burrito.

This new offering features two of Tokyo Tokyo’s favourites, Chicken Karaage and Kani Tempura, and is available in two variants – Samurai Karaage and California Kani Tempura.

Samurai Karaage Makirrito is a roll of sushi rice stuffed with Japanese Fried Chicken, sliced carrots and cabbage and drizzled with special Japanese sauce and mayonnaise.

The California Kani Tempura Makirrito, on the other hand, is a serving of tempura crabsticks, ripe mangoes, shredded cabbage and sliced carrots also drizzled with special Japanese sauce and mayonnaise wrapped in sushi rice and nori.

As Tokyo Tokyo’s Product Manager, Harvie Elaine Sering said, “We wanted to offer something new and exciting to our loyal customers using their Tokyo Tokyo favourites Chicken Karaage and California Tempura. With our Makirrito line, we hope that they will enjoy more their mealtime no matter how busy they can get”.

A serving of both variants is affordably priced at P100.
