The Black Pig

The Black Pig. Charcuterie, Bar & Restaurant. | Bread, Butter & Dip. The Black Pig Charcuterie Board. Oven-Baked local Pork Belly & Bone Marrow. Slow-Cooked Seabass. Apple Mille-Feuille, Vanilla Ice Cream. | A great dining experience at the South. I really have to share this…the Bread, Butter & Dip was a complimentary and delish! The butter makes it more tasty. The olive oil makes it smooth, sweet & slightly nutty. The granary mustard makes it pungent. The baby carrots add a crunchy texture & sweet taste. The Black Pig Charcuterie Board is the Chef’s selection of their best charcuterie. It has different flavors & really melts in your mouth. I like the Chorizo Iberico & Salchichon Iberico. The Chorizo Iberico was rich, smoky, fatty & mild. The Salchichon Iberico has a nutty flavor, a bit sweet & buttery texture. The Oven-Baked local Pork Belly & Bone Marrow has baby carrot, mashed potato, thyme & garlic infused pork jus. The Pork Belly was soft, tender, crunchy skin & scrumptious. The Bone Marrow was rich, nutty, really melts in your mouth, creamy, a bit scary but sinfully delicious. The jus makes it more tasty & add a sweet-garlicky taste. The thyme add a lemon-minty taste. The baby carrot has a sweet, earthy taste & add a crunchy texture. The Slow-Cooked Seabass has mussels, caper sauce, spinach, beetroot, cherry tomato & verjus. The Seabass was perfectly cooked, soft & meaty. The mussels add a sweet, chewy texture & has a mild ocean flavor. The caper sauce makes it tangy, lemony & has a slight salty flavor. The spinach add a nutty flavor. The beetroot makes it sweet & add an earthy flavor. The cherry tomato was juicy & add a sweet taste. The verjus add an earthier flavor to the fish & sweet-tart taste. All the flavors really compliments each other. For dessert, Apple Mille-Feuille, Vanilla Ice Cream… “Cake of a thousand sheets”, many layers of pastry. It has three layers of puff pastry alternating with two layers of pastry cream but sometimes with jam or whipped cream or with fruits, nuts or savory fillings. It also have different variants, like this one…its thin & crunchy. It has the right amount of sweetness. The Apple was smooth, soft & yummy. The Vanilla Ice Cream balances all the flavors. Then add some caramel sauce on top which makes it buttery in taste. Yum! It is perfect with Alberino Jorge White Wine. Its clean, fresh, lighter-bodied & tangy. | It is definitely worth a trip. Great food, drinks & service. The presentation of the food was nice. Its colorful & very appetizing. If you ask me, if i will come back here…oh yes!
