AirAsia Philippines Meals on Board at Affordable Prices

As a foodie I’m always challenged about in-flight meals, sometimes you have only two choices and if not lucky you have to stick to one dish. There is a lot of horror of in-flight meals, from sad looking dish to not so good meal, and when you see the price, it cost a lot which is not pleasant at all.

Thankfully, AirAsia Philippines knows that the meals on flight should always taste great at affordable price.

Last July 12, 2017, during our flight from Manila to Bohol, we had Uncle Chin’s Chicken Rice for our in-flight meal. It has grilled chicken, red chili and chicken rice. This Malaysian Hainanese Chicken Rice is indeed a crowd favorite and very filling.

And on that day AirAsia unveiled its latest in-flight offerings. They featured the best of Asean flavors, savory snacks, healthy food selections, variety of beverages and special gift items and merchandise. The airline which has been voted the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier for nine straight years formally introduced “ Santan inflight menu and catalogue” at a press event held in Bohol in partnership with Amorita Resort.

In serving the best Asian meals on. Board, AirAsia is using Santan known as Coconut Milk as one of the core ingredients.

During the launch, we got to try some of their in-flight dishes and my favorites are:

Thai Green Chicken Curry with Rice, it infuses Thai spices and ingredients. It is aromatic, creamy and tasty. Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak, it has chili sambal, chicken rendang complimented with fried anchovies, crunchy ground nuts and hard-boiled egg (half). It’s amazingly good.

Lastly the latest addition to AirAsia’s Santan Menu is Chicken Lasagna. This tasty treat is layered with a creamy béchamel sauce, delicious tomato sauce made with plump, juicy tomatoes, minced chicken and herbs, as well as shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese which is baked to perfection with vegetables completing this gratifying meal. It is a comfort food that is hearty and satisfying.

They also have light meals like Vegetarian Sandwiches and Chicken Deluxe Sandwich. For those who have sweet tooth they offer desserts too, like Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Meringue and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

What I like about AirAsia Philippines besides their good service, you have a wide variety of meals to choose from at discounted price especially when you pre-book. They have Combo Meals or Hot Meals with choice of drinks for only Php 180. You can purchase their meals in advance online. The best part, guest who pre-book will be assured of meal availability and will enjoy priority meal service onboard. And of course, I can pre-book my favorite in-flight meal anytime I booked a flight via Air Asia whether it is a short or long haul.

By the way, you can also purchase some travel essentials and gifts as well when you are on board.
